This is the most amazing, serene, peaceful, spiritual place that I have the opportunity to sit and visit, reminisce, meditate, share my successes, failures, losses, sadness, and unbelievable grief. and most recently my deep desire to ask his advice on life, his may have been a mess, yet he gave the most sensible, wise, and with much love and worry in his heart hoping I would do as he advised and certainly not as he did! He was always taken aback when I approached him with a problem!
My brother, although not there, was always my go to with such unusual requests, as, "would u stay with me until I can breath again, do kids always have some sort of sickness, do marriages always make u question why God decided we should unite and procreate!" is whom I go there to talk things thru, to cry about the sadness I have felt, the indescribable loneliness, as if missing something that I can't remember what it is. after his death! I go there to reset, I go there to share good news, in the years since he has left us an incomplete family the sharing has been mostly sadness, loss, because without our oldest brother, without my kids Uncle, without my confidant, without my babysitter, without my marriage counselor I am lost unless I'm sitting on that hill adjacent to Temple Baptist Church, the only place Mitch went to worship, to pour out his pain, and he had a tremendous amount, the place where he said he could see everywhere that he ever wanted to go and everyone he loved. I can see it all from this hilltop!Added July 29, 2016 by Val Soph
